I’m closing the webstore at the end of August!

I first opened the webstore in the winter of 2020 as a way to try and make independently-made and small-press tabletop role-playing games more readily available in Canada - something I’m sure many of us, myself included, have had difficulties with. Exchange rates are expensive. Shopify, to put it plainly, isn’t great. Shipping costs from the United States and beyond are expensive. The Canadian postal service is inscrutiable and often arbitrary. And have you seen how much cardboard boxes cost??

The hope with the webstore was never much more ambitious than to break even. But beyond the financial cost, it is also a lot of work. And to be honest, making books has been a passion of mine for nearly a decade, but the nitty-gritty of actually selling them online? No thank you. I would like to re-focus those energies elsewhere.

I’ve been quietly trying to shift stock for a few months now, but now I am loudly trying to empty the shelves by the end of the summer.

At the end of the summer I will be offloading whatever books remain to whatever shops might pick them up, libraries (of both the little free and regular tax-contributed varieties), giveaways, Facebook marketplace, eBay, etcetera. I, personally, look forward to no more boxes, no more scheduled mail pickups, no more piles of tape and bubble wrap, and having more time to pursue other projects.
